well, i am getting my new wheels in about three weeks, so i am amped and am shopping for some good rubber to put on those bad boys.

17X8 fronts and 17X9.5 rears

i searched all over for what size tires to run, and i don't know how to read those tricky graphs, so i am asking for you help, what size for front/rear respectably. i think that i need to run 245/40/17 and 265/40/17, but not sure.

also, what is your guys choice on tires, i don't want to spent too much (over 800 after balancing/mounting). tirerack has the bfg g-force KDW-2's for $150 for 245/40 and the dunlop sp-sport fm901 are $101. i would like something sticky and higher treadwear, bout 280-320 for durability.

but what size for rears, 265/40?

i feel like a retard humping a doorknob because i am absolutly lost when it comes to tire size.

ok, i was way off. i feel like an idiot

just got a hold of my contact at american tire, and he quoted me 670 for four bfg g-force sports. 205/45 and 225/45 for the rear. my buddy has these on his 05 STi and they stick really well, and are 340 treadwear. anyone know of a better tire or some reason why not to get these?

do i need any bigger/smaller. i have seen a lot of tires having there sidewall streched, i guess it prevents sidewall flex, not sure, good idea to do that?

thanks for any help.

id run a 245 40 17 up font and a 255or275 40 17 out back. if you wont cheapper tires in the 280 to 340 range tirerack has the Bridgestone Potenza RE750 (340aa a) and the Yokohama AVS ES100 (280aa a) price is from um $113 to $175 a tire. O you could go Kumho too i think they have a 300aa on a tire

225 is too narrow if you are running 9.5" wide.
225's would be good on the front 8" wide.
245-275 are the widths to get for the rears.

yeah, well i just looked at my friends STi and he is running 225/45 all round and he is 17x8, so i don't know what the hell that guy was thinking that i talked to. i drove it, and the g-forces have some sidewall flex, but nothing i couldn't handle since i am running on 60 series right now and mobbin.
i heard that the avs100's are good for like 5000 miles, then blow and are really slippery.
never drove or know anyone who has drove the 750's, any testomies?

p.s. streached tires do suck! and i have never drove on a set of kumos that i have liked, all really suck (except maybe the MX's, never heard much bout them).
