Anyone know if BF Goodrich Radial T/A 225/70/R14 or 245/60/R14 will fit on the 85 Supra? Having a little difficult time finding 225/60/R14.

Might have more luck for the stock P wheels in 60 series in 215/60/14 and 235/60/14.
If 245 is what you are after, 245/50/14 all around is about the biggest that will fit.

Ken,
Thanks. Not necessarily looking for 245. Just having a bit of difficulty finding either the 215 or 225 60 R14. A past suggestion to Coker Tire Co. has taken me close to those sizes but not a whole lot in the 14. Any other tire manufacturer ideas that would have the 215 or 225 60R14?

I have 245/60/14 Hoosier's on the rear of my 85. No rubbing issues but the car feels a lot less powerful at low RPM's than with the 215/60/14's. I would only recommend 245/60's if you make quite a bit more power than stock and need them to hook up. As far as BF Goodrich in 215/60's, look for Comp TA HR4's rather than radial TA's. They are much better, but unfortunately discontinued. To find them you will have to call around as all remaining stock in that size has been distributed to stores.

last i checked, bfg still made the radial TA in 225/60/14, it shouldnt be hard to find.
and 245/50/14s are a trip, very fun tires, but your speedo wont be accurate. :)

Just on the BF Goodrich website. Not anymore. Confirmed this with an email to them. I just received an email from another tire website, Cooper tire (Cobra radial) is in the 225/60R14.

Interesting......
I also just went to the BFG website...

Click on the sizes & specs link. A .pdf file should open up. 225/60/14 is still listed.
Here's a good test. Call or go to your local Sears, or Discount Tires. See if they can order this size. If they can't get this, then we're all in for a wonderful surprise..

I think I'll be purchasing the yokohama Avid S/Ts for my next set of tires. They are the correct size and perform great. Toronto member just installed them on the front of his car (wickedly restored 6mgte car). He had some BFGs on before I believe but had huge amounts of understeer, especially in the rain. He put the yoko's on and said it was a world of difference. more traction, quiet, handles great and best of all...they are cheap.

ASk his about these tires again after he has about 10,000 miles on them...
I had a set of Avid's on my Blue Supra.. and they were great for the first 10K miles. Then, almost literally, over night they went to shit. Great Bad weather tire after that, but didn't handle worth a shit...

I've got two '84's and one '85. They've got Dunlops, Yokohamas, and Michelins respectively, in 225/60/14. The Michelins are the most expensive, about double the cost of the others, but they're the best tire of the group. The others aren't bad at all, but those Pilots seem to give a better ride, cornering ability, and just a better "feel" overall. Almost thirty years ago, I replaced the stock Toyos with Michelin ZX's on my '76 Celica Liftback. Must have gotten a bad batch. Lots of sidewall bubbles and problems holding air. Didn't buy Michelins again until last year. I put LTX's on my 4Runner. Those tires made a tremendous difference in the ride. They're great.

This is an option for us, not the best, but not shabby either.
I ran the 502's HARD, about 16-20 autox events, and 15k miles an they are still alive (barely). ...price isn't bad either. ...not atall.
