I've got an XX, I'm trying to work out what the stock XX tyre size is, I'm assuming its the same as the L-type, as they both had to begin with the same 14" wheels shared with the Celica/Tarago/Corona.
Anyone know?
Thanks,
Nathan
Stock L-type wheels from 82-84 were 5.5 inches wide by 14. Tire size was 195/70R14.
Stock 85 L-type wheels were 6 x 15, with 205/60R15 tires.

Thanks,
I've got a set of Soarer rims that are the same as the 15x6" Supra rims which I'm going to be using, just checking to see how big my tyres will be in relation to the original ones.

I believe 195 is the correct size (Ltype). I think the 185 is about 1/2 inch narrower tire. Will this fit acceptably? tirerack.com thinks that 185 is the stock size but I don't think so. Cost of shipping to return the tires is 120 dollars so I need to know if I can get away with the smaller 185s. Thanks for input!

Kurt,
Celica GT's & Supra L-Type's use the same aluminum wheels (except for 85's). The Celica's use the 185/70's, the Supra uses the 195/70's. Personally, I would go w/ the correct size in this case.
