Looking at the Rota P-45R rims. They come in a 17x9 +25 and a 17x9.5 +12. Just wondering if there'd be room for them in the fender wells. Tempted to maybe get the 9" for up front and the 9.5" for the rear.
So far the only place I've found that sells them is this: http://www.jlbmotorsports.com/rims/rota-list.html

+25 would fit nice on an l-type.

There were no major differences in suspension between P & L-Type were there?
Personally I'm just worried about steering angle on the front being reduced from huge rims. I would like to maximize my steering angle, not reduce it.

suspension? Not that I know of. L-types ran a higher offset rim though. iirc, l-types 14x5.5 +21 offset. p-types 14x7 +8 offset. Dunno about the offset for the 85 l-types, but those were 15x6.

The only thing I'm also going to have to consider is that the stock hub diameter is 60.1mm and the Rota P-45R hub diameter is 67.1mm

17x9+25 will not work in the front. my veilside andrew v 17x9+15 hit the strut housing. needs about a 3-5mm spacer

Stock hub diameter is more like 60.1mm I think.

The stock hub diameter is 60.1. You could always get a hub centric ring.

You'll need about a 12mm spacer on the front to run those rims, and a 12mm spacer on the rear.
Alternatively those 9" rims should fit on the rear, but will have a largish gap to the flare.

I was quoting a prior post made by another member here in the Wheels and Tires section. Thank you for the definitive clarification. I'm really tempted to get these wheels.
Anyone know where to get metal hub-centric rings? eBay has a limited selection and they're all polycarbonate... I'd rather remove the aluminum ones and inspect them regularly for corrossion than have plasic ones that can break. I found plastic ones on ebay for $10 bucks (http://cgi.ebay.com/HUB-CENTRIC-RING-RINGS-SPACERS-OD-67-1mm-ID-60-1mm_W0QQitemZ130265940598QQihZ003QQcategoryZ42614Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem). Elsewhere they're like $40 before shipping for the same polycarbonate rings.
How would hub-centric rings work in conjunction with a spacer? Hub -> Spacer -> Hub-Centric Ring in conjunction with longer ARP wheel studs...

Get 20mm bolt on spacers with integrated hub centres.

You should gimme your number Kenny we should meet up at some point or at least talk. Do you know Mark & Matt Gehr? Mark's got a bad-ASS 1J Cressida and can drift like a mofo. Knows G personally and is rocking some of his serial9 stuff.

PeeWee I like the way you think I'm just wondering where I would/could get them. I do NOT like the style that are like double lugs. That doubles the amount of studs/nuts to break/come loose.

Has anyone used them in a racing environment w/o issue? Also what is to prevent the use of longer ultra-high grade wheel studs (like ARP jobbies)? And I mean just use longer wheel studs, and a flat plate type spacer. I'm tempted to have a set of flat plate type spacers machined out to the thickness I require and just have them machine the ID & OD for the hub to match the hub and the wheel.

Double studs are the ones you want. They are bolt on spacers, not slip on spacers.
The chances of breaking are stud are very remote.

17x9.5 +12 SHOULD fit OK, but you won't want to run more than 275/40's width-wise, may need a 5mm spacer...
17x9+25mm will likely not fit the fronts, will definitely require a 10mm spacer or better...

they would fit fine aslong as the offset is right .i think the old RWD mags are about 20p which is an odball offset when looking for rims ,it took me ages to find some 18's in the right offset for my MX73.

you probably know i rock all the s9 stuff lol
i used to chill at G's shop after work..sometimes go to his place to pick up parts
i dont really know anybody outside of locals
my buddy uses those spacers with the integrated hub ring...he been drifting on them for years. beat on. still fine. i would run them if i had to, so i can have my wheel stick out more for flushness lol. sorry i got this insane obsession with flushness.
