Looking at my 15's, they look a bit small on the cars. And after purchasing my 17's, I'm considering selling my 2 sets of SSR's Formula Mesh and getting this CCW. I think it's a great looking wheel. Was thinking about 17x9 fronts and 10's rear. Still have to calculate offset for best fitment. Curious if anyone here has a set.

They're in the $2000 range catagory. In Jugalo's first post he said $2460 shipped. Bu that might be with tires too.

I have been looking into those for awhile now. The cool thing is, they sell blanks too.

***edit*** My fault. I was thinking of Curtis Custom Wheels (CCW)

I'd be careful on CCW. I don't think they have specific hoop sizes for every diameter wheel. I've seen some of their wheels that have really small centers and kind of look odd. Its like they use a 16" center on a 17" wheel.

I was gonna put them on the Supra and Celica and make them look like twins. But since I purchased the 17's, I was thinking about going 17's for the other car too.

This would not be good, not what I want. If that's the case, I'll just get 16" hoops made for my SSR's. Kodiak does this for about a $1000/set I believe.

You will be doing exactly what CCW does.

I've been getting some PM's asking if I was selling these. I'm not selling them at the moment that's why this is not in the F/S thread. As of right now, I'm considering trades for 16's or 17's with a nice fitment. I have a post on club4ag.com about this as they tend to have the rare, extreme size wheels. Here's the post.

As you can see, there is a lot of interest in buying. Also you can look around there and you will see that wheels similiar to mine goes for a good amount of money.

You must understand, I bought these from the club4ag.com guys. The market is crazy overthere, therefore my selling price will be quite a bit also. I get the feeling guys here, and guys on my other sites, are not willing to spend that much on their cars. Therefore when I decide to sell them, I'll post it up on club4ag.com. And I'll post a thread here linking to it. I just hate getting the negative comments. Where as AE86 guys try to come up with the money.

That's how normal 3-piece wheels are made. That's why you get the stepped lip. You get 16" center with 17" wheel, 17" center for 18" wheel.

The only time you get a 17" center for a 17" wheel is if you get reverse-mount wheels.

I have seen at least 1 set of CCW 17s with what looked like a 15" center. It looked horrible. That was a while ago tho, before they really hit it big online. I think Jugalo's wheels look awesome.

Don't mean to interupt , but personally I would go for the SSR's. They are era correct for the mk2 and look very unique. The CCW's look nice to but are a bit overplayed already. For the past 4 years I've seen them on everything from vipers, to porsches, to corvettes, mk4 supras, and even mildly modified regular cars. So if I were you, I'd be one out of a few, plus you already own the set!

I think he wants to step up from 15s. a 14" center on a 16" hoop may look odd.

^He is right. As much as I love my SSR's, they look a bit small on the car so was thinking of up sizing. But it may be due to the small 195/50/15 tires. I'm gonna swap them out for 225/50 and see if it makes a good difference.

I'd stick with the SSRs to go with the old-school look. 225/50's will look better for sure on that wide of wheel. Just hope there will be no rubbing issues as your rears have a pretty aggressive negative offset. Love your Celica convert, by the way!

Just my $0.02...

Well there is still a little room between tire and fender. So it should fit w/o rubbing.

Just that looking at other's wheels with the 225/50, they look a little bit too fat/big in comparison to the rim. But will still try this first. Maybe the slight stretch will get rid of the fat look. We'll see.

225/50s on 15 x 8 with -12 offset. These could be "actual" 7.5/190 mm, though, so YMMV.http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r73/planetaryfuels/5-19033-1.jpg

^ That looks like a 15x7 to me. I'd put a couple bucks on it even. I know there have been many instances where the actual width was unknown and it was incorrectly measured/calculated/guesstimated by the owner.

Well I guess it all boils down to what your needs are, if it's just for looks or performance. Cause you can always fill that extra space with beefier tires, so good luck.

When I get em refinished, I'll have em measured by a pro, and we can settle up.:naughty:

Joseph, I wouldn't call Mikey out ;) They are 7.5" or 8" at least, seen them in person.

225's bulging as it appears to be... either that is a 7" wheel or that is one wide 225.

ex pro tire mounter here....

Well, it's not an insult or anything personal :P

But judging from the way that 225 tire fits, my money is on that wheel being 7" wide. That looks just like how the 225/50R16s fit my Enkei 92s in 16x7, which is to say they almost look too wide for the wheel. It's easy to measure if the wheel doesn't have a tire mounted. Just measure from one inner bead to the other.

15 x 7" Enkei 92s for comparison....
