Zean 82 04-17-2004, 07:05 PM not sure which ones you have, but in two the lugnut spaces there should be a little slot. Just put a screwdriver or something in there and pry it off using the lug. Again, this is going by mine but hope it helps. skip 04-17-2004, 07:10 PM if you have that green bag of stuff in the jack compartment...there should be a tool in there to pry up the center caps. CJSREDPRA 04-17-2004, 07:12 PM P-Type center caps, correct???? 2 ways you can do this: 1. Do you still have your OE Toyota toolkit in the trunk???? Do a search on the discussions that we've had lately about the contents of the various Toyota tookits/toolbags that came w/ our cars. One of the things you "should" have (unless it's missing) is a small pry lever that is about 6 inches long. Remove one of your lugnuts, then insert this pry lever into 1 of the small corner openings in the center cap (you'll see it when you take a lug nut off). Pry the center cap off. Screwdriver works in a pinch if you are missing the pry lever, but it's hard to work it around the lug bolt. 2. Take the wheel off the hub. Get something w/ a long pole (the jack handle works fine) then gently shove it into the back of the wheel hub opening (on the backside of the wheel). Cap should just pop right out. Don't know how the L-Type center caps come off... Have not had the opportunity yet to do it. Zean 82 04-17-2004, 08:34 PM I think mine are the L type cause every one else has different ones. L type are the machined ones right? Not sure again... Superium 04-17-2004, 09:11 PM Well I just grabbed and pulled as hard as possible and they popped right off. And yes they wer p-type rims. suprasrock 04-18-2004, 02:42 PM If it's an L type wheel, then you stick your weapon of choice in the slot indicated, and lever off. http://www.yellowsun.plus.com/forum/wheel.jpg |
