View Full Version : How are these tires? CometMA67 05-02-2004, 05:34 PM http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Sumitomo&tireModel=HTR+200&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=06HR4HTR200&fromCompare1=yes pdupler 05-02-2004, 06:22 PM Sumitomo's HTR4 shows still available on Sumitomo's website in our stock P-type size however you now might have to get it somewhere other than TireRack. In the U.S. we really have only three choices in H speed rating and A temperature rating: 1.Michelin Pilot 2.Sumitomo HTR4 3.Falken Ziex ZE502 I've had a couple of sets of the Michelins and one set of the Sumitomo's. The Sumi's are just as good as the Michelins at nearly half the cost. Other members have indicated the Falkens are a good choice as well and reasonable cost. Phil D. CometMA67 05-02-2004, 07:34 PM Thanks! Windecker 05-12-2004, 02:06 PM Well the Sumitumo tire is no longer available now either. Does anyone know where to find a set? 225 60 HR-14 Thanks! Windecker P.S. We are running out of tire choices and I have read several reviews of Michelin tires and unhappy owners. BillyM 05-12-2004, 03:41 PM http://www.vulcantire.com/ze502_6_t.htm In stock and ready to ship. --BillyM Windecker 05-13-2004, 09:09 AM I meant any Sumitomo's but thanks very much. I am considering the 502's. I have 4 Sumitomo tires on my Celica and want another set for my Supra so I have all like tires and wheels. Thanks for the info. Windecker SupraDII 05-23-2004, 11:55 PM My FIREHAWK GTA 88H's are 205/60/14 and have been excellent! TRACTION: A ; TEMP: A ; SPEED: H I would recommend them to anyone looking for a set to fit the stock wheel set-up's. SDII :) Windecker 05-24-2004, 09:44 AM Thanks for the input, but I already ordered the Falken tires. Actually my speedo reads about 4 mph fast so if I was to change sizes I would go up not down. Maybe a 235 instead of the 225. or a 225 65 instead of 225 60 Funny, my celica is off the EXACT same amount. Wonder why Toyota did that? Windecker Ross 05-24-2004, 10:00 AM Most car speedos read high. This is either to minimize speeding, or to make the owner think his car is faster than it is. I want one 05-29-2004, 01:28 PM The Yokohama Avid S/T was developed to provide All-Season performance for muscle cars, light trucks and full size vans. Compared to typical original equipment sizes, it provides the Plus Zero size options (which combine wider, lower profile sized tires with the vehicle’s original wheel diameter) which enhance steering response and stability. The Yokohama Avid S/T uses Yokohama’s Tri plex Tread Compound to blend all weather traction with longer wear while its independent block tread pattern incorporates wide circumferential grooves and Yokohama’s 20° V-groove technology for more efficient water drainage to enhance wet traction and resist hydroplaning. Internally, the Yokohama Avid S/T polyester cord body and twin steel belts help deliver responsive handling and cornering stability. Yokohama Avid S/T tires feature outline raised white letters, are T-speed rated and available in 70-, 65-, 60- and 50-series sizes for 14" and 15" wheel diameters. dynamic73 05-29-2004, 08:42 PM The Yokohama Avid S/T was developed to provide All-Season performance for muscle cars, light trucks and full size vans.
