View Full Version : wondering if this will work on an l-type silverbulletmk2 05-26-2004, 12:39 AM ssr mesh wheels in 15x9 @ -2offset (rear) and 15x7.5 @ +4 offset(front) let me know. just checking. CJSREDPRA 05-26-2004, 01:16 AM My brain is probably saying no.... Low offset wheels will work fine for a P-Type, but not on a L-Type. The wheels will be sticking out past the wheel well opening. Just to give you an idea on an "ideal" offset to shoot for, for a L-Type, the 82 - 84 OE 14 x 5.5" L-Type wheels have a +27mm offset. The 85 15 x 6" wheels have a +20mm offset. Unless someone can correct me, I would say that something that is > than +10mm would be "ideal... Others????? Dean 05-26-2004, 01:55 AM I'd have to say that you won't like the looks of those on an L-type. I have 15x7 +20mm offset at all 4 corners of my white 83 L-type. The fronts sit flush with the fender lips. Stock P-type wheels at 14x7 +8 offset stick out 12 mm (half an inch) further, and still look OK, but they do stick out a little bit past the fender lips. Your fronts would stick out another 10 mm past those, and would look a bit funny. For the rears, I'm pretty sure they would be too wide as well. 8 inch wide wheels with a +12 offset should fit, but they'll be very tight. 9 inch is too wide and will stick out. silverbulletmk2 05-26-2004, 12:47 PM yes i sort of figured it would not work but i had to ask the family. Import_Eve 05-28-2004, 10:37 PM so for the p type the offset has to be lower than 10 mm and the offset for the l type can be from 10mm up? can anyone explain this to me...by the way I think those won't fit just reading the offset... CJSREDPRA 05-29-2004, 12:07 AM Picture your current wheels on your P-Type, with the wheel flares removed...... You'll notice that the wheels stick out.......... This is what the L-Type will look like, when you use wheels w/ a P-Type offset. |
