I just got some 245/50/R14 BFG Radial T/As put on my car, and besides a huge handling increase (especially in the wet), Like 8 people have inquired about purchasing my car, and many more have just came up and said they liked it.

These results were aquired with the white letters out. BTW. :D

This car's going in the "Hot Night in the City" car show this year!

which way is better? black or white letters out? and would this tire size throw the speedo off?

Yes, it will read faster than what you're actually doing, but it'll lower your gear ratio AND look sweet doing it. Jamie has got a set on her white 84. Looks mean

how much is it per tire and where can they be found?

I'm on my 2nd set. I got about 50k out of my first set. If you think they handle good now, wait till they've got about 20-25k on them. They do throw the speedo off 5% to the fast side, but that helps keep you out of trouble ;). I like the additional gear reduction with them too. 5% turns 4.10s into 4.30s and 4.30s into 4.56s (roughly).

Pressure can be pretty critical too. I run 30 psi in the rear and 31 in the front. If you get the pressure too high (especially in the rear) they will try to skip a little when you push them really hard.

Glad you like them!

Now if they just had a higher speed rating,...

I used to have them before I got my 16 inchers; I run 225s on those. Sometimes I really miss the look...

had 245s on the black car, until i wore them into the wearbands.... great tires, loved the handling even when bald, and they look great on P types.

ive got 225s on the L type, and the same can be said, they handle well, or at least well enough for the improvements i have on the car now, and look good.

Personal choice, it's up to you. On all of my Supra on the tires where I've had white letters intalled, I've had the white letters on the outside (80 MKI: White letter Goodyear Eagle ST's, 195/70/14's. 85 MKII: White letter Goodyear Eagle ST's, 235/60/14's & BF Goodrich Radial TA's 225/60/14's. 81 MKI. BF Goodrich Radial TA's, 195/70/14's).

Current setup: 85 MKII: Yokohama A509 Blackwalls, OR Yokohama AVS Intermediates (white letters not available). 81 MKI: See last paragraph.

White letters look so '70s
I've always had my white letters inside, even in the '70s

If they want advertising, they can pay me. :D

here's a couple pics of them on a black mk2 at the TSC meet in may (hope whoever's car this is that they don't mind) I took a pic of this car specifically because of the minty condition it was in and the tires. they look great in person and let me tell you there are WIDE! 245/50/R14s

245/50's are goin on the front of mine as well... Tho on the read I am debating on going with a 265/50. The only reason I hesitate is because the recommend a minimum of a 7.5" wheel.... Tho the idea of having a 10.37" contact patch is VERY appealing...

ah okay, that's what BFG stands for! When i bought my car they were on there. They're still on the front, i love how they look. They're just a pretty tire. The rears though were worn to all hell so i had to get some 235/60's put on.

black out > all.

In following with the general consensus here, I've put BFG's on my previous two Supras, I thought they looked kick-ass with the white letters out on both a black and blue p-type.

Don't know what I'll put my current Supra next, this one has 16-inch rims so I have many choices...it's got Continental ContiSports 225/50r16 front 245/45r16 rear right now.
