are those gold with a chrome lip? that's what it looks like from here but I can't tell for sure....
if it were me I would have gotten them all in one color, like FWDsux said they look a bit busy. And yeah they do look like 18's.
In any case, nice car man.

Sorry for the confusion, but it's just a photoshoped image of Nicks car. I used his car because it was sitting at the proper angle to apply the new wheels. Yes they are gols centers. They come in silver and gunmetal, but custom colours are available.
Nick your wheels do look good, really good. But I'm looking for thinner spokes and busy is fine for me. It fits the character of the MK2 with the flares and hard creased lines. I've done mesh since the late '80s, it's time for something different.
Unfortunately the closest fit for these wheels on our cars is 17x8 +9, which you could use all way round. If you wanted 17x9 for the rears you would have to go 17x9 +21 or +28 with an adapter.
5 bolt is a different story. Lot's of different diameters and widths available. Which I'm converting to anyway now. You think for the price they charge they would be completely custom fit?

What are you paying to get the 5 lug conversion done? Are you doing it yourself?

Hell, that 17x8 +9 offset is very close my front fitment, but it would look a little sucked in in the back....
I feel a five spoke rim fits best. The MKII need bold rims. That's not to say meshies don't look good, but not my bag.
I think some SSR GT3's would be baddass looking too. Maybe some SSR Competitions....So light!!!! But as with the Volks, non custom wheels at custom wheels prices!

AFAIK, rays will do custom offsets for its multipiece wheels.
They offer it in writing for the gram light 57 pro.

Would really like to know which Rays will do custom bolt patterns and offsets.
Getting anything "custom" from them especially if it's not in their "Master" catalog is nearly impossible unless you know someone at Rays. It takes 2-3 months for stuff that isn't the norm ..ie 5-114.3 high offset, 4-100 high offset but within their catalogs. You're better off pulling teeth from a live bull elephant.

I didn't say it was easy. Anything special order from Japan is typically a 3 month wait.

3 months is no problem. I've waited 6+ months on both sets of wheels that I've ordered for my personal cars.
But I am serious: Which Rays??.. because we deal with Mackin and they can't seem to get me things other than what's in the catalog.

Gram Lights 57Pro specifically.
Since they do that one, I figured they'd be willing to switch rims with whatever center you wanted on their other multipiece wheels to get desired offset from their stock. Maybe not? If Mackin won't set it up for you, then that would be a significant problem.
