wheel adaptor isn't the best way of doing a lug conversion.

you will run in to weight issue
vibration issue
and wheel torquing issue.

wheel adaptors are not hub centric.
you should use only steel adaptor which weights near 10 lbs each.
also you cannot use an impact wrench to torque the lug ever. So you gotta make sure no idiot ever use an impact wrench to your wheels.

BTW I think they cost about $75 each.

ok, you got several things wrong there buddy. Most wheel adapaters are custome built, so yes, they are hubcentric if you give the manufacturer the right specs.

The weight sucks, but its in the center of the wheel, the least harmful spot to have it. In comparison, its nothing compared to the weight of the 18s. Those will seriously slow down your car.

Impact wrenchs on any wheel lug is a bad idea.

And last, doing a 5 lug conversion is far from easy or cheap, nor is there a tried and true path hammered out yet.

believe me they are not hubcentric. I have a few sets of these adaptor in my garage. to get a hubcentric adaptor It would prob cost 200-300 a piece for custom CNC millng. I know this because I wanted to install corvette wheels to my Safari van. but cost of the hubcentric space/adaptor cost so much that I ended up selling the convette wheels.

If you have a hubcentric adaptor.. PLEASE tell me where to get a set..

Yes impact wrench is a bad idea if you use full torque setting. but when you get your tire change some idiots will try to use an impact at full torque. you have to watch them like a hawk..

I use adapters just to adjust for more positive offset wheels than stock and they work well. Mine are probably some of the first ones made and not hub centric. Now that they are easier to purchase I would get hub centric style adapter.

You'll find adapters at the following link.

Or you could just connvert to 5 bolt hubs....

When I finally get time I will finish this project.

hmmmm, interesting, but maybe i should see if i can just bolt both the rotors and calipers off a mk3 donor car, to my mk2.

Unfortunately this will not bolt straight on.
