okay to re do these wheels you must first strip them.Use zip-strip it cost $25 for a large size. Brush it on smear it all over and it will strip it down to bear alumiun. Strip entire wheel everywhere. Use mothers mag alumium polish on the lip and the shiny spoke part until it shines bright. If wheel real bad you must sand it. Use 600 grit then 1000 then 1500 then 2000 then polish it over and over again. Alltogether with one wheel it should take 30 minutes sanding then use a drill with a buffing wheel polishing wheel about 40 minutes polishing. Once you have a desired shine you must paint the inner part of the wheel, the part that does not shine not the spoke but the inner part. You must tape off the shiny part and spray paint the inner wheel. Rip tape off and thenpaint the black stripe that is in the shiny part of the wheel. After all this you must clearcoat the wheel with clear coat paint. It hurts the shiny finish you worked so hard to get but it protects it because if you dont it will last a week before its gone and you have to refinish the wheels all over again. The wheels without the clearcoat are awesome but no clearcoat means no lasting finish. It does hurt the shine alot but it does protect it. Just add a light non abbrasive coat of wavx or polish and your set.

I have redone mine pretty much like above, but I did not apply clearcoat.
I did try it on a 'test wheel' to decide it was reducing the shine too much.
Instead I put 5 coat of wax (one a day). After 4 months, they are still
shiny. For sure the clearcoat will protect them for a few years, but I prefer re-Mothers&wax them once in a while !
The choice is personnal ..
